Students for Opportunity, Advocacy and Respect (SOAR)
SOAR - Students for Opportunity, Advocacy, and Respect - is NEAAO's youth leadership program for high school students. SOAR members come from different schools but have many things in common: one is a desire to work towards an equitable, inclusive, and safe community. SOAR members meet weekly to share experiences and design projects based on community needs. These dynamic teens have already created a youth needs assessment to distribute widely among the region's youth, and are investigating ways to create sustainable change in neighborhoods.
